Statistical modelling and machine learning on longitudinal data. Academic backgrounds in statistics, mathematics and computer science.
We build the software we were missing ourselves.
MedModels GmbH grew out of the work of Limebit GmbH — out of projects with payers, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies in which the same groundwork was solved from scratch again and again.
Projects became products.
Limebit GmbH has worked as a data science partner to health insurers, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies since 2016. In those projects, most of the time went not into the actual question but into the data in front of it: merging catalogues, reconstructing histories, settling data protection.
In 2023 that became a project of its own. With funding from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, MedRecord emerged as an open data model for longitudinal medical data, and on top of it the products that make up today's portfolio.
MedModels GmbH continues that work as a company in its own right. The methodology is still developed together with university research; the engineering stays entirely in house.
Managing Director of MedModels GmbH. Responsible for product direction and for the work with payers, hospitals and pharmaceutical companies.
The development of MedRecord has been funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action since 2023.
Four disciplines at one table.
A small, settled team in Berlin. The people fitting the models talk to the people writing the Rust core, and to the people who know the catalogues. Nothing is handed outside, and there is no layer in between.
The Rust core of GraphRecords, the Python interface, and running both inside isolated environments.
Catalogues, coding practice and interoperability. ICD, OPS, ATC, LOINC, OMOP and HL7 FHIR as daily work.
Anonymisation methods, evidence trails, and what EHDS and GDPR require of secondary use.
How we build.
No outsourcing, no nearshoring. Whoever writes the software sits on the same team and is reachable during the project.
Our products need no internet connection. No information about individuals leaves your network, because the software is not built to send it.
MedRecord and GraphRecords are open source and free of licence fees. What the code does can be checked — by your IT and your data protection officer too.
You get versioned software with ongoing development and support, not a commissioned build that stops moving at handover.
Methods are developed together with university groups and published before they go into a product.
We are glad to talk about concrete cases.
A first conversation usually settles quickly whether one of our products fits or whether the question is better solved another way.
